Lately, I’m always looking for ways to save more money. But one way I know I’ve saved money is by not having cable TV for the last 7 years. This might sound extreme to some people who have favorite TV shows and start watching TV immediately after getting home each day. But I don’t miss TV since I hadn’t had it in years. And I’d much rather have the money and the free time.
-Comcast Cable $100/month x 12 months x 7 years = $8400 in savings
For people who think its extreme to not have cable TV, there are several less expensive options today. I don’t have any of these options, but they’re a great alternative that could save you over $1000 per year.
1. Netflix: $8/month for unlimited movies/TV streamed live
2. Hulu: $8/month for unlmiited movies & TV streamed live
3. iPad Apps: ABC player has a free Ipad App that streams free TV shows for all of ABC’s TV shows. These are usually available the day after the show orginally aired.
Do you still have cable? How do you save money on your cable bill?
